With the most spectacular view of Madonna di Campiglio, the Hotel Cristal Palace stands dominant over the entire valley, which is just waiting to be admired.

Behind the luxuriant woods of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and in front of you the majesty of the mountains: this scenery deserves much more than a simple glance; this scenery enchants us every day, poised between dream and reality.

In the scent of wood, in the familiar details, in the intimacy that one breathes. Here everything seems suspended, as if time had found a shelter. More than a hotel, it is a refuge for body and soul.

This is the essence of the Cristal Palace: an authentic environment of poetic simplicity.

Nestled in the exclusive and wonderfully private area of Le Crêt, Chalet Machapuchare commands uninterrupted views of the entire valley, from the rocky cliffs above La Daille across pretty Val d’Isère to the glaciers and snowcapped peaks beyond. The pistes, shops and nightlife are just a three-minute chauffeured minibus drive away.

Completed in 2018, the chalet sleeps 14-15 guests in 7 en-suite bedrooms plus an additional children’s bunk room. The attention to detail throughout the chalet is one of its highlights, with a focus on natural materials such as wood, stone, wool, metal and leather. Many of the pieces have been handcrafted by the owner or are repurposed from traditional local objects, such as a coffee table fashioned from an old-fashioned cider press, or light fittings made from wooden Beaufort cheese casings.

The focal point of the chalet is its dramatic double height sitting room, with enormous windows affording panoramas of the surrounding peaks. The cleverly designed space comprises ample seating on large comfortable sofas, a generous dining area, a well-stocked bar, reading and games corners on the mezzanine and wraparound balconies giving access to the hot tub, which is blessed with arguably the best views in the valley.

The chalet’s other spa facilities include a stunning indoor swimming pool with a waterfall and counter current system, hammam, massage area, and well-equipped gym. Next door is the sound-proofed cinema room with tiered seating, completing the round-up of superb facilities that make Machapuchare an exceptional luxury retreat in Val d’Isère.

Overlooking Val d’Isère from a privileged position just above the central ‘Petit Alaska’ area, Inoko’s location tucked away in the trees is immensely private and yet just a short chauffeured minibus ride from the snow front and the resort’s infamous shopping and restaurant scene. Inoko seamlessly blends traditional alpine touches with a modern design and state-of-the-art facilities, including a simply divine wellness area with a tempting indoor pool, sauna, massage room and relaxation area – a haven after a long day on the pistes. On the same floor is a television room, perfect for keeping the little ones entertained.

The chalet’s crowning jewel is its magnificent top floor, with double height ceilings and enormous windows flooding the room with light. The majestic stone fireplace and opulent seating area are a wonderful place to gather with family and friends for canapés and champagne, and the spacious dining area provides a sumptuous setting for delicious four-course meals. Outside on the terrace, the sunken hot tub beckons, and the seating area with fire pit is the perfect place from which to admire the views.
