The Quinta da Ria Golf Course, designed by architect Rocky Roquemore, covers approximately 6,053 yards facing the Ria Formosa Natural Park in the eastern Algarve. This 18-hole, par-72 course charms with its harmonious, gently rolling layout, lined with olive and carob trees and offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. The five strategically placed lakes and numerous bunkers require precision and strategy, while the unspoiled, undeveloped environment offers a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. Accessible to golfers of all levels, Quinta da Ria combines natural beauty and technical challenge in a setting that is unique in Portugal.
Course features
Design: The course is laid out around five artificial lakes and more than 300 trees, including olive, cork oak, and carob trees, blending harmoniously with the natural landscape of the Algarve.
Layout: The course is divided into two nine-hole loops, each consisting of two par 5s, five par 4s, and two par 3s.
Challenges: The first nine holes feature large bunkers, while the back nine introduce water hazards on holes 10, 14, and 17, testing golfers’ accuracy and strategy.
Difficulty: The course is considered accessible, with slightly undulating terrain, suitable for golfers of all levels.
