This city proclaimed itself very early “European city”. Breisach am Rhein is a German town in Baden-Württemberg located on the Rhine.
The French call it Vieux-Brisach, as opposed to the Alsatian town of Neuf-Brisach built by Vauban in the 17th century on the French bank of the Rhein.
On foot, by bicycle, the surroundings of the Rhein are very pleasant to explore.
