Mountains

Les 3 Vallées comprise the resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires – Saint Martin, Val Thorens and Orelle: The largest ski area in the world, linked together by ski runs and ski lifts, with 600 kms of interconnected slopes and 180 ski lifts.

Maximum Comfort, Minimum Waiting. The world’s most modern and comfortable ski lift network: 180 ski lifts, including 2 cable cars, 33 gondolas and 40 high speed detachable chair lifts. Highly efficient ski lifts = less waiting time and more skiing A hands-free ski pass system (rechargeable online at www.les3vallees.com) = freedom, comfort and speed.

The minimum altitude level for skiing is 1300 metres and the maximum 3230 metres, meaning that 85% of the ski area is located above 1800 metres. There are 25 accessible summits, 10 of which are in excess of 2500 metres. Thanks to natural qualities (altitude) and regular, ongoing investments in cultured snow production, the 3 Valleys area is able to guarantee snow cover from the beginning of December until the end of April over the entire ski area, offering wide ski runs that are maintained nightly by 80 piste grooming machines.

The 3 Valleys is one of the safest ski areas in the world, offering the very latest technology when it comes to both ski lifts and ski slopes (preventative avalanche triggering, marking of runs, extremely fast piste rescue services ?) Systematic use of Gazex avalanche control systems: this remote technique uses gas to trigger avalanches, which means that ski slopes in the area can re-open far more quickly after heavy snow fall. There are also safe learning zones dedicated specifically to children and beginners.
